In 2016, Dundee-based curator and artist James Lee was our curator in residence. During this time James curated events both independently and collaboratively, including a walking tour around Glasgow to coincide with Tessa Lynch’s exhibition Wave Machine at David Dale Gallery, and a performance event in response to Desde el Jardín, our exhibition by Sol Calero for Glasgow International 2016.
James Lee is Gallery Co-ordinator and Curatorial Assistant at WASPS, Meadow Mill, Dundee and a previous Committee Member at GENERATORprojects, Dundee. Recent exhibitions and projects include, A Very Different Scottish Play, Eden Court Theatre, Inverness (2016); L’Heure Bleue, Solo exhibition by Valerie Norris, Print Festival Scotland at Meadow Mill Projects, Dundee (2016); Reflections In The Black Oil, Research outcome at Dundee Rep. Theatre, Dundee (2015); In No Cite There is Surrender, Tin Roof, Dundee (2015); Ice Cream With The Enemy, The Old Hairdresser’s, Glasgow, Scotland (2015).
