Protect me From What I Know is a group exhibition featuring the work of Jill Westwood, Sohrab Hura, and Adam Lewis Jacob. The project is shaped by the fluidity of meaning and how images, gestures, and positions shift through time.

In a moment defined by political unreality, imposed narratives, and environmental crisis, meaning is not fixed but accumulated, circulated, and often imposed. The works in this exhibition blur authorship and intention, proposing alternative ways of thinking, acting, and seeing that examine how desire and agency are shaped within wider, often unseen forces.

This exhibition marks the first presentation in Scotland of works by Jill Westwood and Sohrab Hura, organised by Adam Lewis Jacob.

Events
In parallel to the exhibition, G.G’s will programme a series of events, including a film screening at EXIT Glasgow on the 18th June and an in-conversation event with Jill Westwood and Adam Lewis Jacob, chaired by author Nicholas Ballet on the 14th June. More details can be found on the Glasgow International website.

Content Advisory:
This exhibition includes material that addresses themes of trauma, sexuality, gendered power relations, and historical memory.

Jill Westwood’s film The Wound (1984) contains explicit imagery of bodily processes, including piercing and wounding, as well as material that some viewers may find disturbing. The film also includes the image of a swastika symbol, presented within a critical artistic context relating to historical trauma, symbolism, and cultural memory.

Sohrab Hura’s Bittersweet (2019) engages with themes of mental health and personal experience through intimate imagery and sound that may be challenging for some viewers.

Visitors are advised to use their own discretion when entering the exhibition.

Operating without a fixed location, G.G.’s responds to the conditions shaping artist-led activity today by creating temporary platforms for exhibitions, screenings, and gatherings. In parallel to the exhibition, G.G’s will programme a series of events, including a film screening at EXIT Glasgow and an in-conversation event with Jill Westwood and Adam Lewis Jacob, chaired by author Nicholas Ballet.
