Carrot Stairs by Nicolas Party is the first permanent commission produced by David Dale Gallery. Developed over the last year with Party, Carrot Stairs is an ambitious renovation of the foyer staircase in hand painted tiles. Working for the first time in ceramics architecturally, Party has produced an installation which shows his distinctive and playful approach to painting, while remaining sympathetic to the building’s history.

Nicolas Party (born 1980 Lausanne, Switzerland) lives and works in Brussels. Recent exhibitions include: Still Life oil paintings and Landscape watercolours, The Modern Institute, Glasgow (Solo, 2013); /prospekt/ Funktion / Disfunktion, Kunstzentrum Glasgow, Neues Museum, Nürnberg (2013); Just What Is Not Is Possible, Museum Folkwang, Essen (2013); IHRE GESCHICHTE(N), Bonner Kunstverein, Bonn (2013); Still Life, Stones and Elephants, Swiss Institute, New York (solo, 2012).
