Publication Launch

05.05.2012 | 5pm
Admission Free

David Dale Gallery are pleased to host the launch of Kate V Robertson, Works on Paper; the artist’s first monograph, funded by Arts Trust Scotland.

As part of the book launch, Kate V Robertson will be in discussion with Andrew Cattanach, writer and Art Editor of The Skinny. The discussion will focus on the works and texts within the book in relation to Robertson’s work in the current exhibition with Kilian Rüthemann and to the artist’s wider practice.

Works on Paper is a limited edition artist book containing a selection of Kate V Robertson’s works on – or relating to – paper. Robertson’s works on paper form a large part of her practice, yet are not usually seen or presented in an exhibition context, and have never been published. Works on Paper features a specifically commissioned text by Ruth Barker, a short fiction text by Geneva Sills, and an excerpt from Alex Hetherington’s 2010 essay on the artist.

Andrew Cattanach has been the Art Editor of The Skinny for nearly two years, writing extensively about the Scottish art scene. Since taking up the post in 2010 he has interviewed several prominent Scotland-based artists, including Martin Boyce, Karla Black and Torsten Lauschmann. A graduate from The Glasgow School of Art, he has written for a variety of magazines including Drawbridge and Frieze.

There will be a small number of the book Works on Paper available to purchase at the launch.

The book is supported by Arts Trust Scotland.
