Broken Heart Syndrome draws its title from Takotsubo cardiomyopathy, a stress-induced heart condition often triggered by acute emotional distress. The name Takotsubo comes from the Japanese word for the ceramic pots used to trap octopus, whose narrow neck and wide base resemble the shape the heart takes on during an episode. It is a collection of works exploring the porous boundary between psyche and body, by Dakotah Weeks Murphree, Anna Lawrence, Paige Silverman, Olivia Wiles, Anna Koutsafti and Fionn Duffy.

This event happens concurrently with an open studio event for To become 2: Arming Oneself, a residency with Eden Dodd, L. Camus-Govoroff and Flora Fettah in the warehouse.
